Beautiful Bella Coola in the Movies,
Canoe Racing,
and School's OUT!!!!



Beautiful Bella Coola is in the movies! Parts of "The Incredible Hulk" were filmed here in the Valley last year, and apparently, there is a subtitle in the movie which identifies Bella Coola as the location. So, any of you who see the movie, check out the scenery!






Last weekend was another "Active Communities" event - a canoe race. My team of six was called "Lucky Luke and the Ladies" as we were five mature women and one young man. We came first in our heat, but were beat out in the final heat by a bunch of high school kids.


It's the last few days until the summer holiday, and the kids are wacky. Monday was horseback riding and a weiner roast at Ms. Jay's place. Today, morning was a movie in the gym, and this afternoon is water fun (hoses, fire truck, etc.) Tomorrow is awards day, and then its OVER for another year.


Here are the little dears with our potato harvest. We grew these potatoes in the classroom, and the harvest was..........meagre, but still exciting for the kids to dig them out of the soil.




Sunday morning at 3:00 a.m. I fly off to India where I'll spend 6 weeks teaching English to nuns in a monastery in Spiti. How's that for an esoteric way to spend the summer! Stay tuned via my blog: http://www.getjealous.com/summerinspiti
